Now You Can Beat The Diabetes Epidemic Without Dangerous Drugs…

Here’s some good news. I’ve discovered you don’t have to rely on prescription drugs to prevent or reverse type II diabetes. I’m going to show you the first steps to treating it safely, effectively, and naturally.

You may remember the controversy surrounding FDA approved drugs like Vioxx and Celebrex. It seems those drugs were rushed to approval becoming top-sellers… until major health risks were discovered, including heart attack.

Now it turns out another “wonder” drug - Avandia (Rosiglitazone) for diabetes - may put you at similar risks.

Despite what medicos may tell you, type II diabetes is NOT a genetic disease without a cure which needs treatment for life.

Bottom line - It’s a problem caused by inadequate, poorly balanced nutrition and a lack of exercise. It’s mainly a lifestyle disease caused by our innate lazy nature. Mine and yours.

Now we’ve got that little truth out of the way, I’m going to show you two minerals and one antioxidant to help you defeat a disease that already afflicts 20 percent of Australians over sixty. Use these with a properly balanced eating plan, and an exercise program designed by a qualified professional.

By taking a few simple easy steps, you can:

Return your blood sugar to healthy levels
Lower your blood pressure
Boost energy and lose weight

People think that diabetes is a problem caused by high blood sugar. But it’s not the root cause. High blood sugar is just a symptom of diabetes.

The major problem in type II diabetes is too much insulin. Insulin is the hormone that your body uses to move sugar (or glucoase) from the blood into the cells, where it’s burned for energy.

High-carb foods spike blood sugar. In response, your body produces more insulin to move that sugar into your cells. Over time, that excess insulin makes your cell’s receptors less sensitive to insulin.

You then develop both high insulin and high blood sugar levels, and your body compensates by producing more and more insulin…

The net result of this ever increasing level of insulin is your body becomes less sensitive to insulin. This condition is called insulin resistance. Also your insulin producing organ, the pancreas, finally gives up in disgust because of overwork. So it stops producing insulin altogether.

Here’s what happens when you get too much insulin in your blood:

It changes the extra sugar or glucose into fat, causing you to gain weight.
(This is why most people with type II diabetes are overweight).
It triggers the creation of triglycerides, whcich are a risk factor for heart disease.
It changes the body’s sodium balance, a factor which raises blood pressure.
It lowers HDL (the good stuff) cholesterol levels further increasing the risk of heart disease and other diseases.
It damages the vascular system contributing to heart disease, retinopathy (eye damage), and neuropathy (nerve damage). The small blood vessels don’t flow any more, which kills living tissue.
And it damages the kidneys.

That’s why type II diabetes sufferers have amputations, bad feet, heart attacks, go blind, need dialysis and a whole host of other medical problems. It is a very bad way to live out the last 5 or so years of your life. And if you get it as a younger person guess what?
Instead of living into your nineties like your grandparents, you might only get to 60 if you’re lucky. Blind, no legs, in hospital more than out. What a thing to look forward to.

The medical industry’s response, to focus on lowering blood sugar, is appropriate for immediate care. But it ignores the root cause - the insulin problem. Sometimes drugs make the cause worse by stimulating even more insulin production from the pancreas.

Remember insulin is a hormone. Hormones are powerful. When you have too much of any hormone, your body reacts by making your body less sensitive to it - as a way of protecting itself. Unfortunately over time, your body loses the ability to respond altogether.

So what can you do to treat diabetes without exposing yourself to the dangers of the drug industry?

First, you can start to take control of your diet and hormone levels with supplementation.
(More on diet in other articles).

Here are the first three supplements for anyone with diabetes or at risk for diabetes:

Vanadium, a crucial trace mineral, mimics the action of insulin. This means it helps move glucose from the blood into the cells where it can be used as energy. It works by making cells more sensitive to insulin, which stimulates the movement of glucose into cells. It also inhibits the absorption of glucose from the gut, reducing damaging glucose and insulin spikes.

In one study, people with diabetes took a vanadium supplement for three weeks. After just three weeks the average participant’s blood sugar levels dropped by 10%.

Chromium is another important mineral to help control and even reverse diabetes. In one study, participants took chromium picolinate and biotin for 30 days. All participants had diabetes. After 30 days, participants’ cholesterol had dropped an average of 19 points, with LDL cholesterol (the kind that can contribute to heart disease) dropping by more than 10 points. Even more important, the average fasting blood sugar level fell by 26 mg/dL.

Lowering your fasting blood glucose level is actually the first step in preventing diabetes if you’re at risk. It’s also the key to controlling and even reversing diabetes.

Because high blood sugar and high insulin levels both damage your circulatory system and your nervous system, lowering these risks is an important part of treating diabetes.

Alpha Lipoic Acid plays a key role. ALA helps to control and prevent nerve and circulatory damage done by diabetes. In one study, people taking ALA showed improved blood pressure, reduced nerve damage, and better circulation.

Here are the doses considered safe.

Vanadium

500 mcg 3x daily
(Do not take more than 10 mg in a day.)
Take with meals.

Chromium with biotin

500 mcg chromium 3x daily
2 mg biotin daily
Take with meals

Alpha Lipoic Acid

100 mg twice daily
Take with meals

Chromium makes your cells more receptive to the action of insulin. ALA improves your body’s use of glucose. Vanadium mimics insulin, lowering your body’s overall need to produce insulin. Together, these three nutritional supplements give you a powerful support system to help permanently reverse diabetes and restore your good health.

Of course, curbing your carbohydrate intake and controlling the glycemic index of your carbs are important steps to reversing diabetes. And most important of all is, unfortunately, exercise.
